#1: Getting to Know You
- Where are you from? (required)
- Describe your family.
- What is your favorite quote, by whom, and why?
- What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your life?
- What is your favorite color?
- What is your favorite food?
- What’s your favorite place in the entire world?
- If you could have dinner with one person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
#2: Writing: General
- What is the address for your blog and/or website? (required)
- When did you first know that you wanted to become a writer?
- Do you outline or brainstorm before you write?
- What is your writing routine? Do you write every day? Do you have a certain place you like to write?
- Do you need quiet or music to write? If you listen to music, which genre or artist evokes the muse?
- Some writers use notebooks, journals, scraps of paper—even typewriters and then transfer their work to the computer; others type out their thoughts. What is your preferred writing method?
- Are you a full-time writer? If not, what else do you do for a living? Is it difficult to fit writing into your busy life?
- Thinking back to the beginning of your writing career, what’s the most important thing you learned from then to now?
- Since becoming a writer, what is the most exciting thing that has happened to you?
- What are your goals as a writer?
- Do you have to travel much concerning your book(s)?

Fiction
- What inspired you to write the book?
- Which came first, the novel or the title?
- How do you come up with your character’s names?
- Your character’s seem so alive and real…what is your secret?
- Which authors/books influence your writing?
- What was the hardest part about writing this book?
- Did you learn anything from writing this book, and what was it?
- If you could have dinner with one of your characters, who would it be?
- If this book is part of a series, do you have the next books all plotted out? Did it start out as a series—or was it a standalone novel at first?
Non-Fiction
- What inspired you to write the book?
- Which came first, the novel or the title?
- What was the hardest part about writing this book?
- Did you learn anything from writing this book, and what was it?
- What kind of research did you have to do for this book?
- What is your novel’s underlying message to the reader?
Poets
- How do you find your inspiration to write poetry?
- Which poets/poems influence you?
- What is your favorite poem?
- What is your favorite from of poetry?
- Do you prefer free verse over form poetry?
- Do you have a reoccurring theme for your poetry?
- Do you also write short stories or longer pieces of literature? Which do you find yourself drawn to the most often?
- Poets are masters at word choice. List three of your favorite words in the English language.
Songwriters
- How do you find your inspiration to write songs?
- Which singers/songs influence you?
- What is your favorite song?
- Which comes first, the chorus or the verses?
- Do you have a reoccurring theme for your songs?
- Do you also write short stories or longer pieces of literature? Which do you find yourself drawn to the most often?
- Songwriters—like poets— are masters at word choice. List three of your favorite words in the English language.
- Do you hear the music (melody) as you write the words—or are they two separate creations?

- Do you have any advice for writers? (required)
- How do you deal with negative feedback—like rejection letters and bad reviews?
- How do you promote yourself and your writing? Which takes more time—the promotion or the writing?
- What are some of the best tools (books, websites, social networks) available for writers, especially those just starting out?
